A New Chapter in Innovative Talent Development

Recently, Professor Claire Rossi, President of the University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC), led a team from the Sino-European School of Engineering (UTSEUS) at Shanghai University on a visit to innovative technology enterprises in Shanghai's Zhangjiang Science City. The delegation conducted a series of investigation and exchange activities centred on cutting-edge technological innovation, industrial integration, and the cultivation of high-level talent. This visit aims to deepen the collaborative interaction between China and France in the field of education, science, and technological innovation, and to further expand the innovative cooperation network among the French University of Technology Group (UFTG), UTSEUS, and Chinese industry.

Zhangjiang Science City is home to numerous top-tier technology companies and research institutions, boasting a vibrant innovation ecosystem. It has long been committed to building a "tropical rainforest" innovation ecology encompassing R&D, finance, and industrial synergy. President Rossi gained an in-depth understanding of — and highly commended — Zhangjiang's development achievements and multi-dimensional innovation support system in strategic emerging industries such as artificial intelligence and biomedicine.

Focusing on the Zhangjiang Innovation Ecosystem: Exploring New Models of Industry-University-Research Integration with Xnode

During this visit, President Rossi, together with Cheng Yanyan, Head of Socio-Economic Partnerships at the Sino-European School, conducted an on-site visit to XNode. As an important bridge for building an international science and technology innovation ecosystem network, XNode has been deeply engaged in cross-border incubation in recent years. While introducing high-quality innovation projects, it actively promotes Chinese hard-tech companies to "go global," building a key platform connecting China, Southeast Asia, and the global entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem.

President Rossi, Teacher Cheng Yanyan, XNode Founder and CEO Mr. Zhou Wei, and Partner Mr. Gaetan Messin held in-depth discussions focused on the practical implementation of cooperation between UTC, UTSEUS, and XNode in the area of industry-education integration. Topics covered included innovation competitions, co-curriculum development, practical training, and project transformation — all with the aim of jointly cultivating innovative talent with cutting-edge vision and hands-on capabilities.

Partnering with Qiniu Cloud: Collaborative Development of AI and Cloud Technology Talent

As an important highlight of this Shanghai visit, President Rossi led Fabien Pfaender, French Dean of the Sino-European School, Fady Mohareb, Professor of Life Bioinformatics at UTC, and Teacher Cheng Yanyan of the Sino-European School, in an in-depth meeting with Xu Shiwei, CEO of Qiniu Cloud — a one-stop scenario-based intelligent audio and video service provider — along with members of the management team and school-enterprise cooperation team.

Qiniu Cloud is a leader in cloud and AI platform services, having served over 1.69 million developers and covering the vast majority of Chinese internet users. The two parties held productive discussions on the collaborative development of industry-academia-research in artificial intelligence and cloud computing. During the meeting, President Rossi expressed strong interest in Qiniu Cloud's achievements in industry-education integration and internship training. Dean Fabien exchanged views on exploring new pathways for cultivating high-end engineering talent, collaborative industry-education development, and the transformation of innovative achievements.
